About Abdoul-Nasser H. Sanda
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and a Master’s degree in Applied Entomology from Université Abdou Moumouni of Niamey (Niger Republic), and I am currently pursuing my PhD at Université André Salifou of Zinder (Niger Republic) under the supervision of Prof. Sulaiman S. Ibrahim and Dr Mahaman Lamine Moustapha.
My PhD research focuses on the bionomics and insecticide resistance mechanisms of Anopheles gambiae sensu lato, and their resistance profile towards the major public health insecticides.
Using a comparative and inter-ecological approach, my work covers a variety of environments, ranging from the Sahelian and Saharan zones of Niger Republic to the Sudanese and Guinean savannah regions of Nigeria. I intend to compare and contrast similarities in distribution, composition and Plasmodia transmission profiles of the An. gambiae s.l. from these contrasting ecological settings. These kinds of findings are important for cross-border collaborations to control malaria.
