About Peter C. Okeke
Peter Chukwunwendu Okeke is a researcher in entomology with a growing interest in genomics and bioinformatics, particularly in relation to vector biology and infectious diseases. He holds a BSc in Parasitology and Entomology from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and an MPhil in Entomology from the University of Ghana, Legon. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Entomology at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where his PhD work is co-supervised by Prof. Ibrahim. His research focuses on the genomic basis of ecological adaptation in mosquito vectors.
Peter is also a Research Assistant at the Centre for Tropical and Infectious Disease Research (CTIDR), Kano. Through CTIDR, he received a scholarship for a research fellowship in bioinformatics at the Molineris Lab, Department of Life Sciences and Systems Biology, University of Turin, Italy. A major component of this fellowship is the development of sustainable biomedical data analysis workflows, with particular emphasis on the seamless integration of ad hoc analyses into Snakemake workflows.
He has contributed to scientific research through publications and ongoing work in mosquito vector biology, genomics, and bioinformatics. This academic and research pathway reflects his growing contribution to vector biology, bioinformatics, and sustainable biomedical data analysis.
