About Hassan Sani
Mr Hassan is an an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry, Federal University of Lafia, Nigeria. He is currently undertaking a PhD in Biochemistry in the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria, where he is being supervised by Prof. Sulaiman S. Ibrahim.
His doctoral research focuses on climate adaptation and fitness in the major Anopheles mosquitoes across Nigeria’s ecological gradient, spanning the humid coastal south, the middle belt, and the hot arid north. Specifically, he is investigating how temperature and humidity variabilities influence mosquito survival and reproductive fitness, with the broader goal of improving understanding of vector resilience under changing climatic conditions, and how they can be targeted.
