Climate & Health Modelling

CHM

The Climate & Health Modelling Research Cluster at CTIDR investigates how environmental and climatic factors influence the distribution, transmission dynamics, and public health impact of vectors, pathogens, agricultural pests, and snakebite. The cluster integrates experimental and field data on infections in humans and vectors, etc, to develop trait-based, statistical, geospatial risk, and mechanistic models that predict disease risk, pest outbreaks, and snakebite patterns under the fast changing climate. Through this integrative approach, the cluster aims to improve understanding of climate-driven health risks and support evidence-based strategies for disease prevention, surveillance, and public health planning.
