Welcome Statement
A message from the Director of CTIDR
Welcome to the Centrum for Tropical and Infectious Diseases Research (CTIDR). At CTIDR, we believe that rigorous science and strong partnerships are essential to confronting the infectious disease challenges that continue to affect millions of people across Nigeria, sub-Saharan Africa, and other tropical regions around the world.
Our centre was established to advance cutting-edge primary and translational biomedical research on infectious diseases, including human and zoonotic vector-borne disease (e.g., malaria, yellow fever, dengue), emerging and other neglected threats, such as snake bite, while generating evidence that informs effective public health policy and interventions.
By bringing together scientists, policymakers, and global partners from across Africa, Europe, Asia and Americas, CTIDR seeks to deepen our understanding of disease dynamics, strengthen research capacity, and translate scientific discoveries into practical solutions that improve lives.
We are committed to excellence, innovation, and collaboration as we work towards a future where the burden of diseases is significantly reduced and healthier communities can thrive.

Prof. Sulaiman S. Ibrahim
Founder and Executive Director, CTIDR
