Independent guidance and strategic oversight
The External Advisory Committee provides strategic guidance and independent oversight of CTIDR's research activities, ensuring alignment with international best practices and our founding mission.
The role of the External Advisory Board is advisory rather than executive or fiduciary. Board members are not responsible for the day-to-day management of CTIDR, but provides independent advice to strengthen the centre’s scientific direction, governance, partnerships, research quality, and capacity development.
The proposed responsibilities of the External Advisory Board include:
i. Advising on CTIDR's strategic scientific direction and institutional priorities.
ii. Supporting the development of strong research programmes and partnerships.
iii. Providing independent advice on governance, ethics, and research quality.
iv. Advising on capacity strengthening, training and mentorship opportunities.
v. Reviewing major institutional developments and providing constructive recommendations.
vi. Promoting transparency, integrity and good research governance.
